Ivory 2-IN-1 Hair & Body Wash

I was very honored to be selected to try Ivory 2-IN-1 Hair & Body Wash. I really didn't know what to expect from a product that was for both washing your hair and your body. I couldn't see any reason to not try it. We use these types of products all the type on our babies. It helps make the whole bath time go faster.

I was very pleased with the scent of the wash. It had a refreshing smell. Perfect for the summer time.
I loved it for the body wash. It left my skin feeling clean and smooth.
As for my hair, not too keen on it. It just didn't give my hair what it needed most which is moisture. My hair tends to get dried out and frizzy and this soap was not cutting it for my hair type.
However, for my kids' hair it was perfect! It doesn't fun easy so it stayed where I put it. Less soap in the eyes is always best! Love being able to use just one product on the kiddos.
As for my husband, well that was a different story. He blames the little bit of a break out he got on his arms on the soap. However, I do not believe that is the case. I think it just wasn't "manly" enough for him.
I can't say for sure if I will be purchasing this product again. I do like it for my kids, so I will most likely be purchasing it. I will update on whether or not I do.

Beauty Box 5 - May

I am late on posting this, but thought I would get it up now before my next box comes. :-)
This is what the box looks like when I first get it.
Inside of the box.

Here is the description card you get with your box. It tells you about everything you get in your box, how much a full thing would cost, and where it is from.

These are the items I got.

As of right now, I have not actually used these yet. I keep forgetting about them. They are from the same company that I got the samples of nail polish remover from, so I expect to like them as well. I will update once I actually try these out.

These are oil absorbent towels. Love these! I never thought of using these things in the past, but got to say, they are now on my list. Most of the items that comes in your box will be sample size. If this is a sample size, I'm curious as to how many sheets you get in a full size. There are 50 sheets in this little packet. They work amazingly well. I never realized how oily my skin really is. It did an amazing job of sucking up all my oil. I will be purchasing more of these in the future.

I am so sorry this picture is so blurry. I couldn't get a better picture. This is the same type of eye powder that I blogged about last month. Its from Brazen. Love it! It goes very well with the shade I got last month and I still have more than enough from last months. :-)

This is a brush holder that has a suction cup to it and a hook. I do want more of these, but will be waiting till my personal master bathroom is completed. I did a test run of it and it did a pretty good job of suctioning to my dresser lol and stayed there for some time holding one of my eye shadow brushes.

I've got to say that this item I was the most excited about. It is a full size lip liner in nude. The lid has a sharpener in it. I've used it a couple of items now. I personally am not much on using lip liners, but have been hearing about how using nude lip liner is awesome. I've been itching to try it out for myself. Still not a huge fan lol, but got to say that this brand peeked my interest especially with how the pencil is designed. It went on very easily and stayed on. I don't know if you ever have had the experience that a pencil is too hard and when you are putting it on it feels like you are going to rip your skin or something, well I have and this was nothing like that. Very smooth. Very soft, but not too soft.

I've got to say that so far Beauty Box 5 has not disappointed me. :-)

Beauty Box 5 - April Box

I've been really into cosmetics for a couple years now. What helped launch my new found obsession was joining Mary Kay. I learned quit a bit during my time as a consultant. I'll be honest. I'm still learning lots. So one of the ways I decided to help further my education on the subject was of course, do research online.
I came to realize that there are many monthly subscriptions that you can join for different amounts of money. I discovered to my delight that you can sign up with many different beauty subscriptions and receive trial offers. Love me some trials! I love the whole "try before you buy" aspect. I hate dishing out good money for something I don't know if I'll truly love or not.
So, that brings us to Beauty Box 5. I saw this and decided it was a good way for me to get my feet wet.
They have 3 different price range. You can do monthly for $12, quarterly for $30 which saves you $6, or yearly for $100 and you'll be receiving 2 months free.
I decided to stick with monthly just in case I'm not all that pleased with it.
Your box ships out the 14th of the month. You receive 4-5 items monthly to try.
I've recently received my April box.

This the box I received for April. Sorry. I forgot to take picture of the pretty way it was packaged.
As you can see, I received 5 items. I've allowed myself enough time to try each item out before finishing my review of this box.
Also included in the box is a little card with a brief description of each product. It also gives you a price.

I was really excited to try the body wash. I have really dry skin. I'm always looking for a better product to try for my ultra dry skin. I had great hopes for this product. Its called H2O Plus Spa Sea Salt Body Wash. A full bottle of it costs $17.00 and is about 12.5 fl oz. My sample size is 30ml (1 fl oz). I've used it several times.
I had such high hopes for this product. Sadly, it disappointed me. First off, it does not have a pleasant scent to it. OK, its not horrible, but still not pretty. It didn't help with my dry skin. I'm sure for someone who may not have as bad dry skin as I, it may be great. My skin becomes a desert.

From the same company, I received an aqua firming eye cream. I didn't really have the chance to fully try it out as the sample didn't have much to it. I did try a couple times though which was good enough. It was pretty interesting to me. The color was pearl. Its very smooth and silky in texture. I'm not sure why this happened, but when I used it, my contacts got all goopy. My guess is that it bothers my allergies. Guess I'll be sticking with my Mary Kay Firming Eye Cream.

Next on my list is the Brazen eye shadow. Its in powder form. I really didn't know what to expect with this one. I was super excited to give it a try. I love the color. Its a brown with sparkles. Love love love it! It went on so easy and stayed on for hours! Its very easy to layer on to get different tones of the color. It looks pretty small, but this small amount will last me a long time! I'm so impressed with this eye shadow, think I'll be getting more soon before it runs out.

Tree Hut Shea Extra-Rich Moisturizing Lotion is so yummy smelling! I am so not kidding. Love love love it! Its amazing for my dry skin as well. So happy to have found a lotion that will work for me plus smell delish! Its a little oily feeling when you first put it on, but that goes away as your skin absorbs it.
I can honestly say I will be ordering myself some more of this product! I recommend it!

LA Fresh Travel Wipes are nail polish remover wipes. I've heard of it once before. I hadn't tried it till now. The person didn't recommend it and was not impressed with it. At first I didn't get why anyone would want to use these, but OMG! These work so ... just beyond belief. I used 1 wipe for all 10 fingers and it was still wet enough to remove more. I even had on a nail color that normally I have to scrub kind of hard to remove all the color and I didn't have to do that with these. These will be so much easier to take with on my upcoming vacation. I can't wait to get more.

So that is it for this month's box. I hope you enjoyed my reviews. If you have any questions for me regarding my experience with these items, please let me know. As always, feel free to contact me if there is anything out there you would love to see a review on. I am always happy to try something new out!

Swag Bucks

I was recently advised that I should join Swag Bucks. I was trying to find a better way to be able to afford date nights with my darling hubby. Our main excuse on not have date nights is mainly the cost of it. In one of my many groups on CafeMom (www.cafemom.com), I spoke to another mom. She suggested swagbucks.com. She briefly explained it to me and basically set me off on my own with it.
I'll be honest. I was skeptical about it. How can this site be able to help me afford date night and as well pay a babysitter?
Here is a very simple explanation of how it works. There are many different ways to earn what they call swag bucks. The easiest ways is to download their toolbar, answer the daily poll, and to look through the NOSO. Then there are additional surveys you can do. I've seen people complain that they can never find any that they are eligible for. I have not had this trouble. If you use their search engine (which is part of their toolbar) you can actually randomly win different amount swag bucks. I've actually won 21 swag bucks recently. The NOSO are not obligated special offers. Basically, they are free offers. You do not have to do any of them. You just look through them and you earn 2 swag bucks.
You can also earn swag bucks by shopping online with many of the stores they have listed. Swag bucks though can take up to 30 days for most to post to your account. I have shopped online through Walgreen's. I still have not received my swag bucks yet. I'm hoping to receive them by the middle of April.
And of course, you can earn swag bucks by referrals.
That's basically the gist of how to earn swag bucks.
Now for the spending lol
They have many wonderful things you can spend your swag bucks on. For example, you can save up for a Keurig. Of course, they also have many different gift cards or choose to have your pay go to your PayPal account.
I've only been active on swag bucks for about a month. I have already earned enough points to request a $25 gift card to Red Robin. Woohoo! I'm still waiting on it. It can take up to 14 days for it to be processed and mailed. From what I can tell, I can expect it to go out by March 27. Since spending 2500 SB, I have already earned 1492 SB as of today.
Click on the link below to give it a try or just look around! I promise you will not regret it!

Welcome!

Welcome to my new blog! I hope you enjoy your experience with me. My sole goal is to provide you reviews of different products and/or services. If you wish for me to give a certain review on any product, please let me know and I will do my best to do so. :-)

Let me tell you a little bit about myself.
I am Felicia. I currently live in Des Moines, IA with my husband and our 3 children. Joe and I have been married for a little over 8 1/2 years now and been together for nearly 15 yrs! I know!? Crazy lol
Our children are Milo, Michael, and Madalynn. We also have 2 cats, Pumba and Missy. We've had Pumba since he was a kitten. Missy joined us December 2012 when we adopted her.
I have pretty much been a full time homemaker since January 2007 when I decided to leave Wells Fargo to become a full time mom to only son at the time, Milo. I have worked a couple temp jobs since then.
I currently babysit my 2 nephews, Issac and Dyllan.
I am currently on a journey of rediscovering myself. I am trying new things all the time. And that is how I decided to blog about my reviews of the products a try.

I hope you enjoy my blog and come to find my information valuable. I also have great hopes to perhaps amuse you as well!
